La Isla Bonita or La Isla Verde, as La Palma is also called, is one of the three most beautiful islands in the world according to Unesco. It is diverse and pristine like no other. This is also why there are 21 protected areas, the most memorable being the title of biosphere reserve. The craters of the volcanic island, the mountains, the rugged black cliffs and beaches, the starry skies – which form the basis of the second largest observatory in the world – the diverse and colourful vegetation, the pine and laurel forests, the old buildings in the small towns and the warm-hearted inhabitants.
All this makes this island unique. There is no mass tourism here. The inhabitants of La Palma are attuned to relaxed, interested, friendly guests. Live and let live is the motto.
Hiking, diving, horseback riding, mountain biking, stargazing, counting plants, marvelling, discovering, celebrating carnival, enjoying papas with mojo, picking bananas and drinking island wine. All this and much more can be found here…
